The First Kings of Israel

This March, we’ll explore the beginnings of Israel’s kings in 1 Samuel through 1 Kings as part of our commitment to encountering the full breadth of Scripture. We’ll see some key turning points in this early part of Israel’s kingship, which also gives important historical context to prophets like Hosea and Habakkuk. It’s a timely series for our church’s own leadership transition, highlighting both good and flawed leadership, reminding us of God’s gracious care for His people, and pointing us to Jesus—the true and faithful King.

    Responsibility and Risk

The final sermon in our four part series on the key events around the first kings of Israel. Luke walks us through 1 Kings 11:1-13 showing how Solomon lost sight of the Lord and was swayed by his many wives to worship other gods.
Luke encourages all Christians to be aware of their responsibility to be fully devoted to God and warns us all to be careful to avoid losing sight of God.
