Mission
Part of seeking a transformed city is to seek a transformed world. As a church, we partner with individuals and organisations across Australia and the globe to share the love of Jesus.
Ormond Anglican supports the work of five mission partners, pledging to give 10% of our ‘live income’ (what people give us) in support of their work. Our people are encouraged to make a personal connection with one of these agencies. The aim being to encourage our partners by getting to know them and what they do and to benefit ourselves as we are exposed to the work on the mission field:
Joining up as a member
Making a personal commitment to donate
Getting involved in some way (eg. serving on a board, making a visit to the field).
Consider God’s calling to mission personally
Our Mission Partners are:
AFES – student ministry at Monash University Christian Union
Compassion – releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name
Nungalinya College in Darwin – empowering Indigenous Christians
Local Leaders International – developing Christian leaders by supporting Bible colleges around the globe
CMS – seeking a world that knows Jesus
The Reverse Advent Calendar is an inspiring initiative that brings communities together to support individuals experiencing food insecurity at Christmas. This program encourages acts of kindness and generosity through the simple act of giving.
Unlike traditional Advent calendars that focus on receiving, a Reverse Advent Calendar promotes the spirit of giving. For 20 days in December, participants—families, individuals, schools, and businesses—place one non-perishable food item or toiletry into a designated box each day. Once filled, these boxes are donated to local food relief agencies to support those in need within our community.
SUFM Beach Mission
Each year, many of our congregation members from each of our services serve on short-term beach mission teams. Traveling to popular holiday destinations across Victoria.
Currently, we are involved directly in two mission teams, Inverlock and Port Fairy.
