Jesus’ family tree – 5 amazing women and their incredible faith!
As Advent begins, we immerse ourselves in the first two chapters of Matthew’s Gospel.
This week, the story of Jesus’ family tree from Matthew 1: 1-17 where he deliberately includes five ‘heart in your mouth’ stories of faith and courage. Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary, the mother of Jesus. These vulnerable women trust God even through it increases their risk! And God is faithful – faithful in their circumstances and faithful in the long-term, as their lives of faith pave the way for the salvation of the world through Messiah Jesus.
