Playtime is a playgroup for children aged 0-5 with parents or other carers. We aim to provide a safe, fun, caring, interesting and inclusive experience for local families, regardless of their faith or cultural background. We hope that carers will find joy in their role as they bond with their children; while also sharing the journey with other adults.
Playtime runs on Wednesday mornings from 9.15am. We are blessed with a big hall for burning energy, a separate room for quieter play, highchairs, change table and tea & coffee!
A small team of volunteers co-ordinate the running of Playtime, providing the set up and program. All families are asked to contribute by bringing fruit to share each week, helping pack-up toys and morning tea.
Playtime runs most weeks during the school term. Wednesday 5th of February will be our first session for 2020.
Playtime Small Group will be run 11am-12 noon from 12th Feb until 18th March.
25th March will be our final Playtime session for Term 1. This will be followed by a celebration lunch.
9.15am Free Play: A variety of toys, activities and books are available.
10.30am Morning Tea: After together packing away the activities, the children sit down for morning tea. Each child gets a plate of sliced fruit and crackers.
10.45am Story & Songs: We read a short story then sing songs and rhymes, before a big cuddle with our kids!
11.00am Farewell: The main part of Playtime comes to an end.
Extras from 11am
Once or twice a term, you are invited to stay for lunch. All families are requested to bring something to share.
Most other weeks, parents and carers are invited to Playtime Small Group for adults from 11am – 12 noon. Volunteers care for our children and provide them with sandwiches for lunch. We get together to encounter Jesus in the Bible, learn to love him more, and support one another in our faith. No matter what your background or beliefs, you are welcome to join us if you’d like to explore who Jesus is.
