Faith in Action

For over 170 years, people in this area have stepped out in faith and personally invested in the future of the ministry of this parish. This legacy of generosity has created the facilities we have today and enabled Ormond Anglican to thrive and serve our congregation and wider community.

Now It’s Our Turn:

Housing for our future Vicars has been a concern since 2009, when our original vicarage was demolished to create parking as a condition of Council approval for our new Church building.

As real estate values have risen, the cost of providing housing for our future Vicars has at times seemed overwhelming.

God has provided abundantly! The Melbourne Diocese has gifted us the Richard Street property, located just 5km from Ormond.

Through careful stewardship and the generosity of Ormond members, we have secured 55% of our renovation budget.

Built in the 1960s as a Vicarage for the now closed St Christopher’s Anglican Church in Bentleigh East, the Richard Street property is structurally sound but needs significant work to meet current Diocesan standards for Clergy housing and to prepare it for the future.

This renovation is about more than refurbishment; it’s about repurposing the space to serve as a secure, welcoming home for our future Vicars and a versatile facility for church activities.

The estimated renovation cost is $450,000, of which we still need to fund $200,000.

We aim to raise $200,000 through gifts and pledges for the renovation of the Vicarage.

The Vicarage Giving Appeal will run over two years, allowing you to spread your gift over two financial years with options for making weekly/monthly or annual recurring payments.

Your gift or pledge will enable us to plan with greater certainty.
