We are thrilled to be able to announce that we reached our goal of raising approximately $20,000 worth of food donations in the 2017 Hope for Glen Eira and Beyond Food Drive.
The 2017 Food Drive was held from May the 20th to the 28th. Teams of volunteers from local churches visited Glen Eira residents to invite them to take a blue Hope Bag and fill it with non-perishable food donations. These Hope Bags were then collected, items sorted, and passed on to our partner agencies and services. In this way we have been able to support those agencies and services, as they care for those in need- in the City of Glen Eira and Beyond.
We are thankful to God for:
~70+ volunteers who were involved in the 2017 Food Drive, in a variety of roles
~the six local churches that had a tangible participation in the Food Drive (St Catharine’s Caulfield South, St Paul’s Caulfield North, Compass, Ormond Anglican, Ormond Church of Christ & Mckinnon Reformed Presbyterian)
~the 660+ bags full of non-perishable foods that have been donated by residents of Glen Eira, families of Ripponlea Primary School, and our church partners.
~the high quality of donations
~the hundreds of households that were visited
and most of all the great generosity of Glen Eira residents and the families of Ripponlea Primary.
All food donations made during the Food Drive have now been passed on to our 2017 partner agencies and services (Community Information Glen Eira, Open Hands – Carnegie Church of Christ, C-Care, Compass Care, Salvation Army Bentleigh).
Many thanks to all our cheerful volunteers, Glen Eira residents, partner churches and agencies, and Ripponlea Primary.
And thanks to Glen Eira City Council, Proud Supporters of the 2017 Food Drive.
Stay tuned for the 2018 Hope for Glen Eira and Beyond Food Drive!
